On the Way Home – Meta-Sunset, 2016/17

This painting, five by seven feet, was commissioned for a family in White Shop, Virginia, near Culpeper. Title derives from the fact that they (wife and husband, who both work in Warrenton) wanted this to be based on views they have as they're returning from work.

Conclusion of the 11-year sunset series. The Sunset Chronicles: Paintings and Notes from Four Thousand Nights – book in preparation (agent/publisher TBD!). How painting each day’s sunset changed both the art and the artist. Expect new paintings here, as well as retrospectives of sunsets going back to 1995. Thanks to everyone for hanging with me through all the changes.
