William Van Doren, CLOUDS BUILDING IN LIKE SOME PECULIAR THEORY OF THE COSMOS. Sunset from Stony Point, Albemarle County, Va. Oil on Arches 140# watercolor paper, 17 x 23.

How Many Times Does An Angel Fall – Sunset, Sunday, 20 March 2016

William Van Doren, HOW MANY TIMES DOES AN ANGEL FALL. Sunset from Stony Point, Albemarle County, Va. Oil on canvas, 20 x 20.

Original thought in working with a leaden overcast was something along the lines of “attempted alchemy,” but it just didn't work out that way. Title is from “Blackstar,” the song by David Bowie.
